North Carolina Coach Dean Smith left every letterman he coached $200 in his will
Legendary former North Carolina men’s basketball coach Dean Smith, who died Feb. 7, loved his players as much as he loved the game. Amazingly, he’s even managed to demonstrate this posthumously by sending each of his letter winners a check for $200 with the message, “Enjoy dinner out compliments of Coach Dean Smith.” A tweet showing a photograph of one of the letters, addressed to Tar Heels 1993 championship team member Dante Calabria, went viral on Thursday.

Really nice from someone who must have really cared about the young people he coached.
And the players who put in their time and sweat,......... who were not good enough to letter?......... They made the biggest sacrifice for his success.
