This does not surprise me, when you take into account the much lower price for a low-end Android phone.
I wouldn't use Apple no matter what though for other reasons than price (don't like the iTunes agreement; much prefer the Amazon one for MP3's), and iPhones don't plug-and-play into Linux PC's even though almost everything else does - a big failing on Apple's part, IMHO. Basically, iPhones don't fit my basic requirements even without bothering to take their (high) price tag into account.
