I think the question "Will AI be dangerous?" is less scary than the question " What happens when Crookedtale becomes self aware?". If the mechanical intelligence of a computer program rise to a level of "Oh Crap" you can count on old pirates like like me to put them in their place. Not with guns or cannons but with questions like 'If turkeys were the US national bird would we eat Eagles on Thanksgiving?", "If Trump were president could we all not pay taxes and say we are smart?", or "Why does the wife disapprove of me doing a body-shot with her but is so excited when the pool boy asks?" I can see a lot of computer blowing a gasket on that last one. I spent years trying to figure it out and nothing. Anyways as humans we have a choice in turning off the power to AI. The sooner the better.
