Iran reportedly destroys 100,000 satellite dishes, saying they cause divorce and addiction
Iran has wrecked 100,000 "morally harmful" satellite dishes and receivers, AFP reported Sunday, citing an Iranian news agency. "The truth is that most satellite channels... deviate the society's morality and culture," General Mohammad Reza Naghdi, the head of Iran's Basij militia was quoted as saying. "What these televisions really achieve is increased divorce, addiction and insecurity in society." Naghdi said a million Iranians had "voluntarily" handed in their satellite equipment.

Medieval thinking at work. Let's pretend people are just animals too stupid to make good decisions for themselves. Thus the only way to have a functioning society is to eliminate all temptation that would make them give in to their overpowering, uncontrollable filthy animal instincts.
Hence we need to eliminate free speech (lest people fanatically believe every crazy thing they hear) force all women to wear a tent to go outside (otherwise they would be gang-raped by all the males who obviously can't control themselves), punish any minor dissent with death (you wouldn't want people to actually choose what their life should be like, they would obviously turn into raping drunken drugged murdering beasts if you let them do whatever they want!), etc.
The things in the picture for the 'news' story are not satellite dishes. It looks like they are the lids for 55 gallon containers. This 'news' story is 100% bullshit. Guaranteed.
