Hum. I did not anticipate an attack on that comment. I will be candid with you.. First, it was a joke, meant to summon up their recent mistakes, general design philosophies and feelings toward the company. None of what I said is to be taken, in any degree whatsoever, as something else other than comic relief.

Second, if you want, I can give you my honest opinion on the matter. Here it is in full. I do believe that every tech and auto company in the world is looking at solving that problem (cracking that nut) first. It is a potentially huge industry, and the way there is now clear. We are on the verge of something very much like this (but maybe not exactly like this, like you point out in your comment about actually not buying them, but use it as a taxi service). Of course, everyone will rush on the prize now, including Apple. It is not an unexpected move, if you see how close this industry is to taking off. I have seen nothing of the prototype yet, but so far, for my taste at least, I do believe the patents in Ford's prototype of the ilk provides the best thought out experience to such a transformation on the concept of the car.

thirdly, I am sorry to say, I am no visionary, on that you are completely right. But I would never presume to be, and if I was committed to the idea, would not dispense it so freely on the internet. I would be trying to make my visions a reality. You see, I'm a writer. I live to make other people dream. To entertain them. Sometimes, it requires building an intricate world and tell a story. Other times, a simple joke does the trick. I thought it was one of those times. If you are looking for visionaries on the internet, in a forum of all places, might I suggest that you look elsewhere? Elon Musk's twitter is a nice place to start.

And finally, /u/Usahnaim, something I find weird in your comment. You have the nerve to attack my character, but when you dispense your hypothesis, which is but an unsubstantiated blurb for all to see, you spin it as fact, stating it plainly, never hinting that you may be wrong, off-base. If you want a serious discussion, on anything, best not to start with a fallacy.

Don't worry, I got the Joke, and I'm an Apple fan. The charging cable will will probably break early on as well :)
