Comment tzan
Europe has no future being dependent on the US military. We need to be able to defend ourselves and not rely on american goodwill. Not only is it morally wrong to demand that another country spend money and lives to protect us, it also gives the US enormous political clout over Europe.
I can only thank Trump for highlighting this.

The real problem is the first past the post method used, it doesn't matter how many good alternatives there are. With a system like the current it is very hard for anyone outside the two main parties to be a real contender.
