Why Doctors Are Sick of Their Profession
All too often these days, I find myself fidgeting by the doorway to my exam room, trying to conclude an office visit with one of my patients. When I look at my career at midlife, I realize that in many ways I have become the kind of doctor I never thought I'd be: impatient, occasionally indifferent, at times dismissive or paternalistic. Many of my colleagues are similarly struggling with the loss of their professional ideals.

Having the government Obamacase breathing down their necks will surely make it better...
The way I see it is that doctors are sick of their profession because they sacrifice their entire 20s, early 30s, to work 80 hours a week and take on a boatload of debt before their careers even begin. And then after all of that, they have to hear a bunch of shit from other people saying how greedy they are and that they are just in it for the money.
