    The old: they could make more money by charging people more. Actually no, people would stop using the service.

    That's like saying Tim Berners-Lee could have patented html and http protocols and made billions. It ignores the fact that html became popular and the default standard because it was free. If he had patented it and tried to monetise it, it never would have become popular.

      That's true. And that's also why Linux runs Netflix, Google,the Internet,NASA,my computer,etc...Because it's free.
