    Giant Mouse Trap

Ive got a bit of a Raccoon problem at my house… I built something to fix the problem. It breaks multiple local ordinances and a few international treaties, but I give you THE GIANT MOUSETRAP! It took over 3 weeks to build and cost around $360 to build, with the main expenses being the winch, and the multiple pipe fittings to adapt the springs to the bar.

Guy Sucks At Photoshop, Spends 10 Years Mastering Microsoft Paint To Illustrate His Book

Turns out, sometimes our resistance to learn something new and master a new skill can lead to something pretty amazing. Pat Hines, who couldn't be bothered to learn Photoshop and illustrated his ebook using good old Microsoft Paint, is the proof. I suck at Photoshop and other programs, and have worked exclusively in Microsoft Paint for over ten years... I honed my craft working long overnights at a hospital reception desk..., the guy writes.

A prison work programme has backfired, after two inmates in the US state of Ohio built computers from PCs they were supposed to be dismantling for recycling. The unsupervised inmates later hid the PCs in the ceiling of a training room. Investigators found software, pornography and articles about making drugs and explosives on the machines. The woman whose accusation led to Emmett Till's murder has now made a horrifying admission

The murder of Emmett Till is one of the most brutal and horrific examples of what racism in America really looks like. In 1955, 14-year-old Chicago-native Till, who was visiting family in Money, Mississippi, was murdered in an appallingly barbaric manner by Roy Bryant and his brother-in-law J.W. Milam, after being accused by Bryant’s wife Carolyn of grabbing her and making lewd comments at her. Till’s mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, chose to display her son’s shockingly disfigured corpse to the world. The photo of Till’s mutilated face became one of the most infamous symbols of white supremacist terror in American history.

An Inmate Found a Novel Way to Avoid Execution. She Paid to Get Pregnant

Four prison guards in northern Vietnam have been suspended for alleged negligence after a female inmate on death row for drug trafficking became pregnant, which means her death sentence will be commuted to life in prison once her child is born, the AP reports. The Thanh Nien newspaper says Nguyen Thi Hue, 42, was arrested in 2012 for drug trafficking and sentenced to death in 2014. A court rejected her appeal the same year.

Sydney grandmother rejects $26m offer on home

An 82-year-old woman has knocked back an estimated offer of $26 million for her home in northwestern Sydney, saying she simply doesn’t want to sell up. Ruth, a retired school teacher who did not want her surname to be disclosed, lives on a 2500 square metre block in Castle Hill, opposite the planned train station. Across the road, a consolidated block of five properties sold in late 2014 for $20.5 million. But the mother-of-six’s elusive property is proving especially attractive to developers because the site is zoned for double the density.

Climbing the Eiffel Tower + Drone

Visiting the Eiffel Tower just got a new meaning. Extreme drone and POV footage from climbing the world's most famous tower. It's almost impossible to get to the tower illegally (do not try to repeat this) especially in view of recent political developments and the ongoing European Football Championship. Police and national guard are always on duty on the premises of the tower. The shoot was carried out in the rainy season. The level of Seine river broke the 30-year-old record and the wind speed reached up to 6m/s. The poor drone operator not only crashed the drone but also received a pretty big fine.

Mikaela Kellner told the Aftonbladet daily that she and a fellow officer pursued the man when they realised he had taken one of their mobile phones. She told the paper that she would have intervened "even if she were naked". A photo of the incident on Ms Kellner's Instagram page has attracted more than 9,000 likes in less than two days. The incident is said to have taken place in Stockholm's Ralambshov Park on Wednesday, where the off-duty policewoman was sunbathing with friends.

OK Go's New Video For 'The One Moment' Is Another Mind-Blower

OK Go's latest (and astonishing) video, for the song "The One Moment," took only 4.2 seconds to film. But the whole thing — a series of rapid-fire explosions — was slowed down to fill the four-plus minutes it takes the band to sing the song. Remarkably, like OK Go's previous videos, the group manages to sync the whole thing using... I don't know, math? "You're right," frontman and director Damian Kulash sings, his image animated as bassist Tim Nordwind flips through a book. "There is nothing more lovely, there is nothing more profound, than the certainty that all of this will end."
