'The Last of Us Part II' Is a Grim and Bloody Spectacle, but a Poor Sequel
There is a common saying that if you seek revenge, you should dig two graves. Playing The Last of Us Part II is like being made to dig those graves with your teeth. It is over two dozen hours of spiraling cycles of violence and vengeance, being reminded roughly every hour that the whole endeavor is squalid and cruel. There is hardly a moment of joy it will not eventually curdle. A truly shocking number of characters that you will come to care about will be gruesomely mutilated, or slaughtered, or both. All of it is utterly predictable, or if you’re feeling charitable, tragically fated.

Last of Us 2 has 'changed the game' for accessibility
Six years in the making, the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 video game The Last of Us 2 is taking the industry to a new level of accessibility — both for disabled gamers and the LGBT community. "They've changed the game, as it were, for accessibility," said Toronto-based gamer Steve Saylor. "This game is the first time that we can actually have the same challenge and have the same experience as our friends."

The Last of Us Part II tries to be profound. It fails
In 2013, Steven Spielberg – the most popular filmmaker of all time – explained to an audience at the University of Southern California why video games don’t move audiences in the same way as Hollywood blockbusters. “The second you pick up the controller, the heart turns off,” he said, ruminating about the “great abyss” in empathy that opens up between the player of a game and its characters.

The Last of Us: Part II may be on store shelves and a colossal success, but that’s not stopping developer Naughty Dog from turning its attention to the future. The Californian team is currently on a hiring spree, and particular interest must be paid to the role of a Level/Environment Designer which makes explicit reference to a single player game.

Of Course ‘The Last Of Us Part 2’ Won Game Of The Year Whether Or Not It Deserved It
Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part II is one of those video games that’s pretty much destined to win Game Of The Year, whether or not it deserves the award. There’s so much heft and gravitas and industry-wide groupthink with this sort of game. People say it’s super deep and so it is. People say it’s a masterpiece and so it becomes the critical darling, swept up in a wave of praise. It ticks off all the right boxes with all the right people, to the point where saying it’s not the best game of the year is almost verboten.

HBO's The Last Of Us may be one of the most expensive shows ever made
In a local Alberta CTV news story discussing the filming of HBO’s The Last Of Us and the effect it has already had on small businesses in the province, one line raises eyebrows: a little detail about the massive budget. The post-apocalyptic video game series adaptation will apparently cost much more than $10 million dollars per episode, with a total budget in the hundred of millions, according to IATSE 212 president Damian Petti.

HBO Is All in on The Last of Us Show With Massive Budget and Possibly 8 Seasons
HBO is a constant source of amazing content, but nothing as me as excited as The Last of Us does. With Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy Miller, and more, the show is pulling out all the stops to make this a great game-to-TV adaptation. Now it seems as if the show is going out of its way to fill the void that The Walking Dead is leaving behind with a rumored 8-season arc.
