Last of Us 2 has 'changed the game' for accessibility
Six years in the making, the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 video game The Last of Us 2 is taking the industry to a new level of accessibility — both for disabled gamers and the LGBT community. "They've changed the game, as it were, for accessibility," said Toronto-based gamer Steve Saylor. "This game is the first time that we can actually have the same challenge and have the same experience as our friends."

'The Last of Us Part II' Is a Grim and Bloody Spectacle, but a Poor Sequel
There is a common saying that if you seek revenge, you should dig two graves. Playing The Last of Us Part II is like being made to dig those graves with your teeth. It is over two dozen hours of spiraling cycles of violence and vengeance, being reminded roughly every hour that the whole endeavor is squalid and cruel. There is hardly a moment of joy it will not eventually curdle. A truly shocking number of characters that you will come to care about will be gruesomely mutilated, or slaughtered, or both. All of it is utterly predictable, or if you’re feeling charitable, tragically fated.

The Last of Us Part II isn’t just Naughty Dog’s most ambitious game — it’s the most accessible, too
When Naughty Dog was developing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the studio had what lead gameplay designer Emilia Schatz describes as “a very simple plan” for accessibility features inspired by one player in particular. Prior to starting work on the game, the studio received a letter from a player who managed to get near the end of Uncharted 2, but got stuck at a point where they had to rapidly press a button during a quick time event. “They were able to play all the way to that point and then they were blocked from finishing the game,” Schatz explains.

As Naughty Dog Crunches On The Last Of Us II, Developers Wonder How Much Longer This Approach Can Last
One Friday night last month, some artists at the video game studio Naughty Dog were working on their latest game when they heard a crash. A large metal pipe had fallen from above them and landed right next to their desks. If it had dropped a few feet closer, the consequences might have been dire. It was late, past 9 p.m., and the construction workers above had perhaps recklessly assumed that nobody was there. But at Naughty Dog, people were always there.

The Last of Us: 'This game can make really great TV'
Video game The Last Of Us is being turned into a TV series - and it's going to be made by the man responsible for Chernobyl. Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking for someone with Nvidia GPU and PC programming knowledge to work on The Last of Us Part II. - Jack of All Controllers
Naughty Dog is looking for a Graphics Programmer, and they’re hoping that person knows anything about Nvidia CUDA or PC programming, DirectX12 experience would be a plus too. This isn’t surprising anymore, given Jason Schreier says Horizon: Zero Dawn is coming to PC and Sony plans more titles to arrive in the future. This isn’t to say the game is 100% coming to PC, however c’mon now, what does Nvidia have to do with an AMD console? No other job listing mentions it, and this is only 2 days ago this was posted (post Horizon PC leak).

Three Hours With The Last Of Us Part II
I emerged from my three-hour The Last of Us Part II demo session tense and anxious, a coiled fire hose of pent-up adrenaline. I’d just piloted a now-19-year-old Ellie through peril after peril, amassing a grisly body count along the way. Few of those kills were clean. Many were desperate knife flurries, death by a thousand sinew-snapping stabs and cuts. Human enemies mourned their fallen comrades, bellowing their names at me with bestial fury while charging to the same pointy end. And yet, after I finished the demo, I walked into a nearby bathroom, stared into a mirror, and asked myself “Did it work? Do I care?”

The Last of Us 2 is easily one of the most anticipated new games of 2019 and beyond, so it's no wonder that every subsequent week has brought with it more speculation, gossip, and rumour about the title's potential release date. The upcoming PS4 game, according to a recent retailer leak, may be arriving as early as October 2019, which has since been corroborated by news that Naughty Dog has wrapped filming on the sequel and rumours that we'll be hearing more from Sony before E3 2019 is over, despite their absence from this year's show.

The Last of Us Part II Character Art Surfaces Showcasing the Power of PS4
There’s been a lot of rumblings about The Last of Us Part II in recent weeks, including (suspect) “leaks” of a 2019 release date. And while so much of the game is still a mystery, some relatively unnoticed character art surfaced from the Lead Character Artist at Naughty Dog. And it certainly shows the power that the PS4 is able to push, assuming we can get this definition on all consoles.

'The Last of Us Part II' Director Draws Ire From Gamers For "Pushing An Agenda"
Neil Druckmann, director of the upcoming PS4 exclusive The Last of Us Part II and Vice President of Naughty Dog, has drawn the ire of some gamers for a recent Tweet of his. More specifically, this week Druckmann retweeted a piece of fan art showing Uncharted's Nadine and Chloe sharing an intimate moment together. And in doing this, Druckmann was criticized by some gamers for pushing an "agenda" and for politicizing the Uncharted series and The Last of Us.

The Last of Us Part 2's Ellie Will Have an NPC Companion
The Last of Us: Part 2 is about honoring Ellie, and Naughty Dog has made a point of implying she may be the only playable character. But in a new interview, Naughty Dog Vice President Neil Druckmann let slip that she'll have someone else along for the ride. "Well, so, Ellie used to be an NPC, but she’s the protagonist in this story, so the player is controlling Ellie. It’s safe to say with the game that we made in the past that there will be some NPC with you in this story, even though we’re not showing [the NPC] in this demo," Druckmann told Buzzfeed.
