After much waiting and speculating by the Tekken community (personally I was hoping for news of a PC port), Bandai Namco announced that they will hold a tournament later this year with $80,000 in prizes. The part about “from Asia, and around the globe” sounds like they are either going to do another arcade knock-out and fly in regional winners (ie EVO2015), or they are expecting fly-ins to attend.

Over the past week, rumours have been floating around that a “big” announcement was on the horizon. TEKKEN Project just posted a teaser on Twitter stating that there will be a significant announcement given on July 7th.
