Personally, I'll be sticking with DuckDuckGo. I've been using it for a while, and I've never heard of startpage.com either. So, I took a look. Heres my thoughts:
1. I'm not particularly fond of having searches being "powered" by Google. Isn't that the reason you'd stop using google in the first place?
2. I find the interface of DuckDuckGo easier to use and read than StartPages.
I'll start using it a bit so I get a better idea of it, since the two reasons I just listed aren't the best. However, out of the search engines I myself have used, DuckDuckGo is the best for me.
1. Startpage returns anominized search results, so Google will not know who you are. Also, it gives you the option to easily put your searches through a proxy.
2. To each their own.
