I used Startpage for a while, but I switched to Disconnect because Startpage's UI was clunky and it didn't have many search options (e.g. filtering search results by a certain time period - last day, week, month, year).
Having said that, I've just had another look at Startpage and it seems that recently they've improved the UI and search options, so it's probably more competitive with Disconnect now.
Regardless, I've used Disconnect for a few months now and it gets my vote because it's provided a great combination of anonymous + relevant search results.
