Yeah some services already let you pause and play from different TVs in the house, so this is basically the next step forward. Someone just has to do it right.
I'm guessing that increases in the processing power of CPUs & GPUs, along with a drop in power consumption, will mean that a desktop chassis will no longer be required. Of course external monitors will always be required for those that need screen real estate.

I agree. Many things you just can't do on a tablet, such as serious graphics. I'll always have a desktop for games and art work.
My guess would be fax machines but then again I probably said the same thing 10 years ago.
The pager/beeper. It's still around in a few places but will probably be replaced within 10 years at most.
Who actually still uses these??
I know a lot of hospitals use them as a non intrusive way to contact doctors and such. But it's only a matter of time.
I'm confident dialup internet is going to bite the dust.
/edit - I guess now that I think about it it's already obsolete.
Not in rural areas.

Separate gaming consoles. The computer is simply better, and as tablets get more powerful, there's no reason to buy a standalone console.
