‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Delayed on CBS All Access Until May, ‘Good Wife’ Spinoff Moved Up

CBS has pushed back the premiere of its highly anticipated “Star Trek: Discovery” series from a planned early 2017 debut to May. The spinoff of “The Good Wife” will move into the “Star Trek” slot, bowing in February. Both series are set for the CBS All Access SVOD and live streaming service. CBS executives stressed that the delay was driven by the need to give the “Star Trek” creative team more time to meet expectations for the series, particularly with special effects.

Star Trek Anton Yelchin Role Will Not Be Recast

This weekend marks the debut of Star Trek Beyond, and by all accounts it’s quite good. So good, in fact, that Paramount is already moving full speed ahead on a sequel. How "Star Trek" Created, Lost, And Won Back Its Devoted Fandom

On a cool, bright afternoon in late May, Gen X’ers and twentysomethings, grandparents, teenagers, and at least one baby lined up on a narrow sidewalk outside the Paramount Pictures studio lot in Los Angeles. Some of them wore suits; others came in T-shirts and jeans. A handful sported bright red, yellow, and blue shirts with a soaring, asymmetric chevron over their hearts. A few had notably pointy ears. They were, unmistakably, Trekkers, or Trekkies, or just, you know, Star Trek fans.

Via The Trek Collective, the Canadian Mint has announced its plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek by releasing a line of coins that can actually be used in financial transactions...if you were so inclined. Some of them are even reasonably priced.

    Ultimate SciFi Spaceship Soundscape

Star Trek's Enterprise engine noise has been a recurring request. A slight problem delayed its release: our user interface had more sliders than it needed to recreate the sound! ;) So, instead of designing just an engine noise, we decided to throw some extra sounds and turn the engine noise into a fully featured intergalactic experience. This soundscape has all the background noises needed to immerse yourself in a classic Sci-Fi movie soundtrack. For the TOS fans, we even added those fluttery...
