Should news agencies be punished for glorifying school shootings?

Many people believe that the publicity that school shooters, and mass shooters gets only entices more to happen. Should news agencies be punished for knowingly causing possible casualties?

Hmmm.. I don't like how they are often reported, and would love them to stop. But I'm not sure about punishment/legislation per se for something indirect like this. Beyond critique and viewers 'voting' by electing to watch coverage which doesn't focus on the killers anyway.

That's a slippery slope that ends with the first amendment being gutted. News is news. Start legislating on what news can be reported and before too long, anything critical of the government will be treasonous.
