Though there are many amazing smartphones in the market, the iPhone XR is the most valuable, according to the latest survey. SellCell.com, the world’s largest smartphone price comparison website, released a latest cost comparison survey for the last month. They have investigated in detail which smartphones in the online retailer market within two years of purchase still maintain value. The survey found that the iPhone XR launched in 2018 depreciated by 53.2% after nearly two years, but lower than other competing products.

Apple is reportedly toying with the idea of shipping the iPhone 12 range without a USB power brick and EarPods headphones, and today we saw more evidence it might just come to fruition. The company just sent a survey out to recent iPhone buyers seeking insight into whether they actually used the USB charger that came in the box with their last handset.

OnePlus has decided to slow down the pace at which it releases its Open and Closed Betas, switching to releasing them once and twice a month, respectively. The rumors reach back to July 2019, when Notable Samsung leaker "Ice Universe" first suggested that 2020 iPhones could feature faster displays made by Samsung and LG that would allow for a smoother on-screen experience. Also last year, DigiTimes linked the then-nascent era of 5G with the wide adoption of higher refresh rate smartphone displays. The Taiwan industry publication based its prediction on the penetration rate of over-120Hz panels in the gaming notebook segment, which was prompting panel makers to step into the sector and develop panels with refresh rates ranging from 120 Hz to 240 Hz.

Looks like LG is pulling out all the stops to revive its smartphone business. The LG Velvet has barely stepped out into the real world and we’re already hearing rumors about another LG phone slated to launch later this year. Unlike the Velvet, this one could bring back a bizarre design trend from the Symbian era – rotating displays.

Whether it be a crazy foldable or just a 5G mega-brick with more storage than most laptops, smartphones are summiting peaks almost no one is asking them to, particularly on price. Samsung in particular has been on the cutting edge of what is a larger and growing trend, with its nearly-$2000 Galaxy Fold and maxed out Galaxy S20 Ultra (which retails for $1600 in 512GB trim).

LG’s troubled smartphone business seems to be taking a few marketing lessons from OnePlus in the hopes of building up a little buzz once again. The company has been dropping some key features of its upcoming LG Velvet over the last week or so, weeks before the phone’s official unveiling on May 7. In its latest update, LG gives away a few more details about the handset, including its local availability date, possibly leaving only pricing for the actual announcement.

A sign of very disappointing sales?

90Hz and 120Hz panels are the latest trend in the smartphone world but don’t be fooled by the marketing taglines. Not every 120Hz phone offers the same display quality, features, and certainly not the same battery life. There’s a lot that goes into a great display besides just the frame rate on the spec sheet.

Android is synonymous with smartphones. It’s the most popular mobile operating system in the world, powering more than 2.5 billion active devices. However, a lot of people don’t know that the OS wasn’t originally designed for phones.

The Asus ROG Phone 2 was arguably the best gaming phone of 2019, packing capacitive shoulder triggers, a 120Hz OLED screen, and some nifty gaming enhancements. Things are heating up in 2020 though, as gaming phones like the Black Shark 3 series and Nubia Red Magic 5G bring the heat. Toss in the refresh rate wars across the industry in general, and the pressure is on for new gaming phones to stand out. So with that in mind, here’s what we want to see from the Asus ROG Phone 3.

As noted in the intro, the camera of the new iPhone SE isn’t all that new. It’s essentially the same generation sensor as found on the iPhone 8. The reason for this likely is due to the fact that Apple was limited by the physical form-factor of the phone, particularly the z-height of the camera module, unable to include any of the newer and bigger generation modules.

The iPhone SE 2020 could have easily been called the iPhone 11 mini. This $399 smartphone gives you Apple’s blazing A13 Bionic processor for $300 less than its popular flagship, delivering not just the fastest performance around but also camera capabilities you’d expect from a picier phone. Replacing the iPhone 8, the new iPhone SE also features a lot of premium features you won’t find on budget Android phones — ranging from a metal-and-glass design and wireless charging to water resistance. Some old-school features are along for the rider here, too, such as Touch ID.

Yesterday, Apple announced the new $399 iPhone SE. The TL;DR appears to be really simple: the iPhone 8’s body, the iPhone 11’s processor, and the iPhone XR’s camera system with a few new capabilities. I’ll obviously wait to review this phone to tell you if it’s any good, but assuming Apple lives up to its usual standards I can tell you something right away:

Bloomberg today reports that of the four new iPhone models in the iPhone 12 lineup, at least two will feature a redesigned chassis with flat stainless steel edges, with flat sides and more sharply rounded corners like the current iPad Pro design. The size of the Face ID notch is also expected to get smaller this year. Echoing previous reports, Apple is also working on a cheaper HomePod that would be about half the size of the current product.
