Vespa Racing on Fiat's Lingotto Rooftop Test Track
The Lingotto building in Turin, Italy was once home to the largest automobile factory in Europe. The factory, built in 1923 for manufacturing Fiats, had an extremely unique design that hasn't been copied since. The orientation of the assembly-line was odd, in that it extended over 5 floors, with auto parts entering on the ground floor and completed cars surfacing on the roof top. More at source.

Terminal Velocity
Much of high-end auto racing has always been about squeezing a bit more kinetic energy out of each drop of gasoline. But improvements in electric car technology mean racing can ditch the fossil fuels. Starting in September, the new FORMULA E series will bring teams from around the world to compete on the streets of Beijing, Monte Carlo, Buenos Aires, Miami, and six other cities. And they'll all be driving a version of the same car: the Spark-Renault SRT_01E.

Touch The Sky
This is a short, but very intimate portrait of Alex Zanardi, the former Formula 1 driver and winner of the American Champ Car Series. Alex was already a star, when he had his almost fatal accident at the Lausitzring in Germany. He lost his legs, but not his attitude. Alex Zanardi came back and did the impossible: He won races in the World Touring Car Championship, two gold medals at the Paralympics in London 2012 and just recently added two more hand bike world titles!

Video of man on a 207-mph bicycle humiliates Ferrari at dragstrip
Which is the more amazing feat: Switzerland's Francois Gissy leaving a Ferrari 430 Scuderia sitting still at the dragstrip as he recorded 3.1gs of inline acceleration on his way to a top speed of 207 mph, or that he did this on a BICYCLE? That bicycle, incidentally, was equipped with a rocket engine supplying 4.2 kN (944 pounds) of thrust.

Faster than a speeding bullet? Meet the world's first 1,000 mph car
What has a jet engine, a rocket booster and travels on a set of aluminum wheels? It's the Bloodhound SuperSonic Car (SSC) and it has plans to hit the world land speed record at 1,000 mph. Made of titanium, carbon fiber and, like superman, is designed to go faster than a speeding bullet, the Bloodhound SSC has been painstakingly put together and tested over the better part of six years.
