Asus announces world’s first 500Hz Nvidia G-Sync gaming display
Nvidia and Asus are announcing the world’s first 500Hz G-Sync display at Computex 2022 today. While we saw a prototype 500Hz gaming monitor earlier this year, Asus is promising a shipping 24-inch 500Hz TN panel that’s designed for esports titles running at 1080p. Asus has not yet announced pricing or a release date for its new ROG Swift 500Hz monitor, though.

Nvidia fined $5.5 million for hiding how many gaming GPUs were sold to crypto miners
Nvidia will pay $5.5 million to settle charges that it unlawfully obscured how many of its graphics cards were sold to cryptocurrency miners. The US Securities and Exchange Commission announced the charges and a settlement with the company today. Its order claims Nvidia misled investors by reporting a huge boost in revenue related to “gaming,” hiding how much its success relied on the far more volatile crypto market. Nvidia isn’t admitting to wrongdoing as part of the settlement, but it agrees to stop any unlawful failures to disclose information.

GPU prices keep falling, now only 25% above MSRP
Three weeks on from the last 3dcenter report, it has now released another GPU pricing update. It shows that over the month GPU prices have fallen an average of 10-15%. This now means that both Nvidia and AMD GPUs are only 25% above their MSRP in Germany and Austria. Although still not ideal it does give hope for upcoming months and releases.
