/t/foreignmusic - Music that's...well...foreign
I wanted to start a tribe that focuses on foreign music. I listen to primarily music from around the world and love hearing new tracks from the far reaches of the globe (even if I can't understand what they're talking about). Join /t/foreignmusic and expand your musical horizons!

Aaargh, the nitpicker in me cannot hold back! I'd just like to comment that "foreign" depends on where you're located and this is a global community. Sorry. As you were.
Fair enough - but /t/music is generally music in English, so I wanted a place for music that's not in English.
Foreign is not the right word for what you mean then. nonenglishlanguagemusic is pretty much the only way you can express that. Back to the drawing board!
'World Music'? From Wikipedia:
Yeah, I'm not about to start a whole new tribe. I mean, if you want to, you can start your own tribe, or just not join it. I think people get the point though.
Excuse me for asking, but what would count as foreign?
Generally speaking, music that's not in English. /t/music is generally all music in English.
Now I have "Chandni Chowk to China" stuck in my head. I'm literally bobbing my head to the music that only I can hear.
Cool tribe!
If you need help, or just want to give pointers to fellow chiefs/mods, check out /t/chiefs!
Ironically, if I post music in this tribe, it will probably be local (to me). :)
I look forward to it!
Well, how can I say no to that. :)
Same. The two I listen to the most are Japanse and Korean related stuff, I think I'm going to join this tribe to see where it goes. I've been listening to Yellow Magic Orchestra again (they're like the Japanese Kraftwerk) highly recommend them. Ryuichi Sakamoto is a genious.
I appreciate it! Make sure to share whatever you're interested in as well - I'm always open to cool new music, as I'm sure the rest of the tribe is as well.
