What made you join the tribe?

It seems like we've accumulated a lot of members fast, but there hasn't been that much activity. When I created this tribe I was modeling it off various make-a-friend tribes I've seen on Reddit and other sites, but maybe others see it differently.

So a few questions:

  1. What do you expect from this tribe?

  2. What can I do to make this tribe more active (what would make you an active participant)?

  3. Why did you join this tribe?

BQ: Llamas or goats?

Thanks for any feedback, it'll definitely help.

    1. I just expect some nice discussion and maybe to meet some new people here!

    2. I'm not entirely sure; in fact, I'm having a similar problem in my own tribes!

    3. I joined it when I saw it was created because I like the concept.

Llamas always seemed really fun, but I'm gonna say goats just because I've owned them before. :P

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate you joining a new tribe on concept alone, I hope we are able to grow and become more active and help you meet some people. :)

I've heard llamas are mean, so goats are probably a good choice. Though I like saying llama, it has a nice ring to it.

No problem! I hope to see this tribe become something great :)

    1. Some new friends of any flavor to talk to and hang out with online rather chatting on snapzu or playing games together on pc or console.

    2. I think weekly events like the movie suggestion would be pretty cool. Could be made into daily if the tribe gets active enought. I don't really want cliques to form since that usually makes people feel less welcome though this site seems to be doing pretty well in terms of cliques as far as I can tell so far. I loved the chat room idea and I'm sitting in it occasionally mostly during work since my talk keybind interferes with gaming outside of Warcraft but I think that'd be more suited for when the tribe is more populous.

3.I thought it would be good to meet people on the site since I was brand new and didn't want to be a stranger like on how I was on Reddit. Seems like a great group of people and I wanted to get to know the bunch of ya better.

Goats, my former neighbor had goats and we would chase them to watch them fall over. It was a blast.

Thanks for the feedback Matt, you've been one of the more active members and I appreciate it. I agree with your sentiment on clique forming, I always hate that about established communities because it's hard to become a part of them.

I know that movie thing was thrown around as well as gaming and anyone is more than welcome to organize that. I've been trying to come up with more social ideas too, obviously the chat system thing didn't work out, maybe a WhatsApp group or something. I'm not sure yet.

I remember meeting some goats when I was a little kid on numerous occasions, they are pretty cute.

We've got a few contributors which is a start. Gotta keep in mind there's only 34 people in the tribe and most of them probably won't post. For the time being, with it being a small tribe, we will probably be limited to just the discussion snaps but when it grows we'll be able to have events and such, however, it seems like it's kinda hard to get your tribe more publicity. The biggest surge was probably the /t/newtribes post, though I'm not sure how may people have joined since then but I know at least I and a few others popped in from that post.

    1. To be honest, I'm not sure, I thought it was an interesting idea so I joined to see what came of it. I'm actually not expecting to get much out of it really which is probably not the answer you were looking for. I have always thought the idea of a pen pal from across the world might be cool so maybe I can find tht here :)

    2. This seems to be a thing in a few of the newer tribes. I have noticed, either people joining but no activity at all, or people posting snaps but no comments being made, both of which tend to give the ghost town affect. I suspect it's the result of a lot of people who have migrated from reddit who were used to simply browsing for content without actively contributing because there usually a few likers within the group. How one converts lurkers and likers into posters I do not know. only to say that I went from a lurker.liker at reddit and immediately became a poster here on snapzu.

    3. Because it seemed like an interesting idea and wanted to see where it would go.

I would have to go with a Lamoat, it is the result of breading a goat and a Lama

I will also leave this here.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate your honesty and you willingness to join the tribe on a whim lol. I agree, I've seen this a lot in newer tribes especially topic based ones where snaps are the superior format. People just find a tribe that falls into their snap's topic and include it and there's not much other discussion that goes on within the tribe. This tribe lends itself for a discussion-only format and I hope that at least lends itself to foster some sort of interactive community.

      Also, <3 llama song.

Unfortunately I think it's just going to take time and being willing to continue to contribute to the tribe yourself. I'm currently hoping more people will start contributing in /t/writingprompts because I find it fun trying to tackle some of them. But it's just going to take more time as people other become more used to posting or as more people join.

Showing passion for your tribeike you are doing and keeping the posts flowing I think also will help you. Remember the tribe you have here will probably draw a lot of shy people as well which means they will take time to feel comfortable responding even though it's anonymous.
