What are your thoughts on "Pay To Play"?
Pay To Play is where a venue asks you to play for free, play for "pass the hat" or "you can cell your cds", or play for a meal/free drinks. Some venues will also ask you to buy a certain number of tickets and sell them yourself. The Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, MA is an example of a Pay To Play venue.

It all depends on how you look at it. I'm personally against it because it's taking advantage of the small guy who wants to get his name out.
On the other hand, it might be a great opportunity for the small guy he would never get otherwise.
Yeah, but unless there is someone that has connections in the music industry there listening, there is really nothing else of value short of experience. Internships work under the same principle, and companies abuse that shit all the time.
