The Franklin Electric [Folk/Indie] - Guys from my area, discovered them a couple of weeks ago and I'm hooked. Played live for the Montreal Jazz Fest on the main stage, was their biggest gig ever, place was packed!
Karkwa [Alternative/Indie Rock] - French canadian band, unfortunately on (permanent?) hiatus. Loved them!
Louis-Jean Cormier [Indie] - French canadian singer. Recognize that voice? You listened to Karkwa's link then - he's their singer. His solo project is probably what triggered the band's hiatus, but they never really said why.

That second part probably won't be everyone's cup of tea...

Obliterate [Deathcore] - Quebec guys, pretty much the generic deathcore with heavy breakdowns, but what they do, they do it right. I played with this guys on a local show before, they're picking up some speed in the North American scene now. Great and humble guys! The frontman is fucking mental.
Bloodshed by Reality - "Obliterated Centuries" [Blackened deathcore] - Shameless self promotion for my old band, that unfortunately split up... Damn had fun with these guys. Playing the keys, produced the album and screaming my ass out (two screamers).

Yeah I got weird tastes in music.
