The Martian. Excellent flick, almost as good as the book.
Mad Max: Fury Road. Made quality film-making look easy.
The game was actually quite good too.
Too repetative
Ex Machina. Solid movie that makes you think and has a good ending.
Star Wars VII. As someone who saw the original trilogy in theaters as a young kid and had my childhood imagination defined by the experience, I was basically powerless to resist it. Tried to watch it critically and remember the letdowns of the prequels, but halfway through the opening scene I was six years old again.
Holy crap... Exactly this.
I have just purchased an action figure (Rey) for the first time in 25 years. They got me hook, line, and sinker, and I'm totally OK with it.
Didn't see much on account of having an under two year old, but I loved Star Wars: The Force Awakens
