What movie moment(s) terrified you the most when you were a kid?

Personally for me it was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, when the guy "chose poorly" with the wine cups. (I don't wanna spoil it for anyone who's been living under a rock).

Whats yours? Hopefully this will get interesting!

The Omen did it for me. The scene where she finds the 666 symbol and realizes that he is the antichrist gave me some seriously traumatic nightmares that I still recall to this day.

Child's Play, basically the entire movie. Had nightmares for years.

Oh man that scene where she realizes that the batteries were still in the box.

Great, thanks for reminding me. That part scared the living crap out of me also.

The first one was the best, they got less scary and more comedic as the franchise matured.

I secretly downloaded the Blair witch project on my parents computer and then tried to watch it one night. Bad idea at that age.

I bet you "secretly" downloaded Blair Witch Project and watched it alone thinking it was a real "found footage" documentary... that is pure awesome.

Superman 3, when Robert Vaughn's creepy sister turns into a fembot.

Holy shit, I totally forgot about that one. That was definitely one of my scariest.

For those wondering about the scene /u/canuck is talking about here it is(Major spoilers ahead for those who have not seen this). I recommend watching it in full screen and the sound turned up a little to hear the awesome sound effects! Also, I believe that movie was actually called "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade(1989)".

As for my terrifying movie moment it has to be from the movie The Ring. The psychological aspect of the movie along with (at the time) the new style of filming and camera tricks literally gave me night sweats for 2 days. To this day I regret watching that damn movie.

For me it was the scene in Killer Klowns from Outer Space, where they are carrying people in giant rolls of cotton candy. When I re=watched that move in my teens I realized how terribly not scary it was.
