Heinrich Admits To Kidnapping Wetterling In Federal Court
Danny Heinrich, the Minnesota man who led authorities to the remains of Jacob Wetterling, appeared in federal court Tuesday in a child pornography case where he admitted to kidnapping, sexually assaulting and murdering Wetterling. Heinrich‘s status conference began at 1 p.m. in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis Tuesday. The appearance was part of a plea deal. Heinrich, 53, was facing the prospect of life behind bars as he is currently in jail on 25 counts of possessing and receiving child pornography.

Islamic State supporter behind Minnesota stabbings: Amaq
An Islamic State supporter carried out the stabbing attack that wounded at least eight people at a mall in the U.S. state of Minnesota on Saturday, the militant group's Amaq news agency said. "The executor of the stabbing attacks in Minnesota yesterday was a soldier of the Islamic State and carried out the operation in response to calls to target the citizens of countries belonging to the crusader coalition," Amaq said in a statement.

Somali Father IDs Son As St. Cloud Mall Attacker
The family of the man who stabbed nine people at a central Minnesota mall has identified him as a 22-year-old college student. Family members say Dahir A. Adan, the suspect in the stabbings, died at Crossroads Center mall in St. Cloud. His family police didn’t mention the attack on the mall, but they seized photos and other materials from the family’s apartment. Authorities haven’t publicly identified the attacker. They say the attacker stabbed nine people Saturday night before an off-duty police officer shot and killed him. None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

Poland will seek the arrest and extradition of a Minnesota man exposed by The Associated Press as a former commander in an SS-led unit that burned Polish villages and killed civilians in World War II, prosecutors said Monday. Minnesota is experiencing its largest measles outbreak since the 1990s following a targeted and intense effort by anti-vaccine groups there to spread the false belief that vaccinations cause autism. As of Thursday, health officials reported 41 confirmed cases, nearly all unvaccinated children from a Somali immigrant community in Hennepin County. Garrison Keillor, the folksy former host and creator of "A Prairie Home Companion," has been fired by Minnesota Public Radio over "allegations of his inappropriate behavior with an individual who worked with him." Keillor was axed a month after the public radio station received a report about his alleged "conduct" while he was still producing the show that he hosted from 1974 until he retired last year.
