While I doubt anyone seriously expected anything different, Avengers: Endgame has officially been rated PG-13. Marvel released a new “Stakes” featurette this morning, which you can see below, and the rating officially appears at the end: PG-13: Sequences of Sci-Fi Violence and Action, and Some Language Cap isn’t going to be happy with that “Some Language” reason.

Reports have it that Doctor Strange 2 could sneak into the November 6, of the next year’s, a date which most analysts were predicting of going to the Chloe Zhao-directed Eternals.

Captain Marvel going higher, further, faster at the box office means its co-director has made history. The Marvel superhero film has now officially grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, which means that Anna Boden is the first woman to direct a live-action film that achieved this milestone, notes Women and Hollywood's Melissa Silverstein. A total of 38 films have grossed more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office, but of those, just two have been directed by women.

The American online streaming site, Netflix, which, in recent days is known, for the cancellation of the Marvel shows, just sent out a customer survey where it asked its viewers to have their say on the cancellation. Though the streaming service received a huge number of backlashes for the cancellation of the show, Netflix stays quite unaffected.

Disney/Marvel’s Captain Marvel has grossed $797M through Tuesday, including $519.3M at the international box office. With these scores, the Brie Larson-starrer has now surpassed Deadpool ($783M), Spider-Man 2 ($784M) and Deadpool 2 ($785M) to become the No. 18 global superhero pic of all time.

When Disney fired James Gunn last July, it seemed like an object lesson of that ever-relevant and oft-repeated internet maxim: Never tweet. Gunn, the director of Marvel’s popular Guardians of the Galaxy movies, had joined Twitter in 2008 when it was a little-scrutinized sounding board for half-baked jokes and unprintable thoughts. He had also long worked in the transgressive world of Troma Entertainment, a genre-movie company that specializes in churning out cheap, self-aware trash.

The MCU flick earned another $69.3 million in North America, a drop of 55% from its $153.4m debut frame. This is, quite frankly, a deeply boring result, as it’s neither a super-duper hold or a super-super drop.

The search for the Infinity Stones is probably the closest thing to a major, overarching plot the Marvel Cinematic Universe has. The physical representations of the foundational elements of existence created during the Big Bang, each stone possesses incredible power. While the six stones don't appear in every film, they've appeared at the center of multiple entries in the franchise and are at the core of Avengers: Infinity War and the upcoming Avengers: Endgame.

Captain Marvel topped the box office for the second Friday of its domestic run, earning $19 million and bringing its domestic cume up to $215m in just eight days. That's a 69% drop from its $61.9m opening day (including Thursday previews). Bawdy jokes aside, that's an exceptionally boring drop, neither a super-strong hold nor a catastrophic fall.
