Hi. Just joined Snapzu.

I left Reddit for Voat several months ago. It's...starting to look bad on Voat, for a number of reasons, and I think it's finally time to jump ship once more (or at least get a life raft ready). Crossing my fingers that Snapzu won't fall into the same destructive patterns as Reddit and Voat; looking around, it hasn't yet, which is good.

It's a very friendly community here, and dialogue is generally more thoughtful than your typical Reddit thread. It can be a bit slow depending on what tribes you join, but hopefully new user participation will fix that. Welcome, and I hope you like it here.

Friendly is good. I mean -- I've seen Reddit turn into a hugbox, and Voat into a hatebox, each distracting from the point of the sites -- actual conversation. As for slow...slow isn't necessarily a bad thing, if it means I don't have to refresh all of my tabs every ten minutes or be left behind. I've already noticed one new user who joined from Voat (hi /u/Moe !).

I created my voat account about the same time as my Snapzu account, but I'm ever less inclined to check up on voat because of the reason you mention. The only advantage Reddit still has over voat (and incidentally Snapzu) is the number of (active) users, and communities, so I might very well abandon voat altogether in the rather near future. Snapzu has yet a very special place in my heart though.

I'll let voat to the (back then jokingly, but unfortunately ever more seriously as time goes by) child porn adepts, racists and intolerant folks of all kinds.
