First Noteworthy Difference Coming from Reddit....

... is that the users are actually rewarded for contributing to the community! Points for commenting, etc.

Brilliant design and layout.

I love what you've done with this site, and I'll definitely be sticking around. Thanks for having me

Has worked wonders for StackOverflow. Though since reputation has an affect on your posts getting to the front page, I wonder how they hope to prevent people gaming the system like the Digg power users.

Sure does, majorly satisfying coming from somewhere that won't let you comment too rapidly.

Definitely looks better, coming from reddit. Only bad thing at the moment is the relative scarcity of content.

Create tribes, share stuff, it can only get better from here :) At least, here, you won't have to fight for your content to be seen!

And please for the love of god don't create tribes with "porn" in the title unless they actually have NSFW content. There are some of us who have "porn" filters which ban everything with the word porn. A stupid, and idiotic trend from reddit

That wasn't really on-topic, you said it in my other post already, no need to target every single one of my replies to say that! :)

Still, pretty funny getting that from /u/cunt

I didn't actually realise it was the same user but yes the whole: its beautiful so we'll call it *.porn is idiotic

But why is it that idiotic? Honestly, the issue is the keyword based filters, not so much the .porn thing.

              @folkrav -

The issue is not just with keyword filters. Porn - as everyone would assume is to do with sex. To name something *.porn which is nothing to do with sex and could be everything to do with something educational/beautiful is idiotic as it can cause confusion and due to these filters, as well as their own caution - people to lose out

But what about all of my old, shitty content?

OH NOES I WILL LOST MY 5800 KARMAS :(

It won't be lost. It will still be there, doing what it does already: nothing. If you're worried about it someday not existing on the Internet at all, get a screenshot!

I really love snapzu's design. Feels crisp and clean, and easy to navigate

This is my first comment. I really just want to see how much XP I get.

Yeah it is pretty awesome, I tend to visit both sites but loving the influx of all the new people!

Yeah I've stuck with Reddit through a few meltdowns, but I think this one is gameover. Hope Snapzu becomes the go to alternative!

I'd rather it be an alternative. Being the go to alternative will cause problems. Stay smallish, keep the user base nice and clean, everyone is happy, everyone's participating and posting quality content (3:100 pet snap ratio please) and I think everything will go a-ok.

While I think it's neat that you get XP and stuff for posting, I don't know how I feel about the fact that new accounts don't get full functionality to start. For example, I'm not a very active poster. Never was on Reddit either. I had like 200 karma over 3 years. I just don't like to contribute to things online like other people do. So it kind of annoys me that I can't follow more than 50 tribes until I "level up".
