Greetings fron Endymion
I've been using reddit for like 3 years and voat for about a month. I just couldn't get into voat. Anyway thought I'd check out snapzu... instalike. Something about the whole site feels fresh and so does the community. The unlockables are a nice touch.
About me: I'm Endymion. Currently pursing a degree in applied mathematics (almost done). Looking to be a naval aviator in the future. I love books, mostly sci-fi and fiction and non-fiction once on a while. I also like Iron Maiden. I'm a casual gamer and cyberpunk art enthusiast.
Looking forward to knowing some wonderful people here and sharing awesome stuff I come across life!
Much love

Welcome to Snapzu! I love the unlockables to for some reason I just love the feeling of leveling up and unlocking new features. I spend my military time in the Navy not as a pilot or an office, but if you ever have any questions about the culture or shipboard life feel free to ask. Hope you enjoy your stay here.
Thanks! And thanks for serving, I'm slowly aggregating all the info I can get thru forums and such from the internet and I'll definitely shoot some your way if I have any.
Welcome! I agree, it's definitely a better place to just hang out for a little bit and not worry about stepping on toes. What kind of sci-fi are you into? I'm a huge Asimov fan and currently reading Dune for the first time 8)
Dune is a must read for any sci-fi fan. Asimov is awesome, I think my favorite by him, which is also the first book of his I read, is Nemesis. My most recent read is the Martian by Andy Weir, all I can say is...WOW! Currently I'm reading Seveneves by Neal Stephenson. My all time favorite is the Hyperion series by Dan Simmons. I highly recommend it!
I actually listened to the audio book of the Martian this summer and I LOVED it. I'll check out the hyperion series, I'm not too familiar with it.
Welcome to Snapzu! What's your favorite theorem?
Divergence/Gauss's theorem. The only theorem that "clicked" straight away for me in that vector calculus class I took a while back.
Welcome! I graduated with a degree in Mathematics many years ago and probably couldn't tell you the difference between a Laplace Transform and a Differential Equation anymore, but the disciplines I learned studying Math really helped me in I.T. over the years.
There's a lot of great places to explore for all your interests. Enjoy the journey!
Haha that's the case with most majors. I have seen few physicists being wobbly with basic mechanics, so it's not all that uncommon. I think there is a place for mathematics in every field. Thanks and I wish you the best.
