I believe tiers refers to the depth of the chain - e.g. all tiers will show comments all the way down the chain, while top tier only will only show parent comments.
That maybe it. I was hoping it was based on how many votes or replies a comment received. If that was the case, then my Tribe Feed would have recently posted snaps and quality comments from prior snaps.
Those seem to work their way to the top just based on votes, though. The algorithm seems complicated and Snapzu isn't open source (as far as I know) so I couldn't tell you how it works.
