I don't even think it's "for now." I mean, I guess some dedicated trolls might take the time out to game the system, but I think it'll discourage a lot of the riff raff.
That is until they start setting up bots that talk to each other and essentially "grind" experience... I blame the people who fall for spam.... Spammers wouldn't spam if there was no gain from it, so someone hast to be keeping them in business...
Reputation also comes into play in this site's calculations. For instance, /t/xpspam exists for people to grind XP, already. Drunkenninja pointed out Reputation in this thread, but I'm not exactly sure its exact function over your site usage.
