What tribes should I join?

Where are most people hanging out? All the Tribes related to my interests aren't really active at all. :(

Yeah I too am also looking for some populated active ones. Would start my own but it seems like there would be little to no population.

Edit: Yeah I just checked some places and the trending stuff only has one upvote or whatever its called here. Thats too bad this seems like a really interesting site.

People will come. The Rexodus is scattered, but eventually the "next best thing" will rise to the top, and people will consolidate there. We just have to wait. I must admit I was expecting a larger crowd here. It was touted by many as the next best option.

Still, nice site thus far. It's got good lines.

I'm really enjoying the site, the only thing holding it back is lack of Tribes with decent populations. Only time will tell what it ends up being like here.

I really hope this site doesn't need reddit to make it the next best thing. It would be cool if this was its own community, not reddits.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that. My point is that the market is saturated right now with other communities, but the cream will rise to the top.

I mean that this site can get big on its own without the need of a lot of reddit's users and reddit's community.

Reddit being the biggest site with that format and one of the biggest sites in general certainly helps a ton., though.

If you're into music at all, I'd like to shamelessly direct you to /t/underdogmusic. I only created it today, so it's got some growing to do, but the aim is to grow a non-elitist music community, where it's not just the top 100 songs of the last decade on repeat (like some places I've been before).

Do bear in mind that a lot of tribes are new (especially since the recent reddit influx), so over the next few weeks and months you can contribute and help them become the places you want them to be.

Well, you could always start posting yourself on the tribes of your interest, or even create them if there's no tribe for it. For example, i was missing oddlysatisfiying from, reddit, so i created it here. Come hangout and post some stuff so we can make it happen! /t/oddlysatisfying

If your interests are professional wrestling, I started the only general professional wrestling tribe here. /t/squaredcircle.

I've also got the only zombie-related tribe /t/zombies.

Honestly I think it's gonna take some work to get inactive tribes rolling. Post things you're interested in or start your own tribe would be my suggestion.

I've you've got any million dollar ideas that you are unlikely to ever act on, the aptly named /t/milliondollarideas is a tribe that I really want to populate. Many tribes are in their infancy right now, and the only way to make them active is to post on them. Otherwise, there is a bystander effect of sorts taking place where inactive tribes are left inactive under the assumption that someone else will post on them. Coincidentally, if you are from /t/Oregon or, more specifically, /t/Portland, feel free to check those out as well. If you ever want to talk moderation with other tribe mods, there is always /t/tribetalk.

As for actually populated tribes where people hang out, check out /t/lounge or the other default tribes listed in the drop-down menu when you click your avatar.
