Messages should have a "select all" function
I find myself having to delete them all at once. Plus the confirmation box after deleting the message is a tad annoying.

I agree, we need a select all check box with individual check boxes for each message and a delete selected button. Good call.
Naturally I clicked the left most mail icon and it makes the message change to "unread" - doing so also adds a notification back to the top bar.
Yeah it does almost seem like an X button.
I know what you mean with the confirmation box. But I've gotten used to it..
