AskReddit addict

Hi all - another Reddit refugee here, in from the cold.

So far it seems like Voat and Snapzu are the main alternatives being mentioned so I'm interested to get a feel for each. How have people found Snapzu so far? Does it have the same humour/insight and frequent puerility?

We've got /t/asksnapzu for ya, though obviously not quite as active.

Thank you! Everyone here seems extremely polite and well mannered from my browsings... Hopefully that will continue!

That's one of the big reasons I like it here. People treat each other with dignity and respect and i feel that's important.

I can't even tell you how refreshing it already is. I feel like I'm emerging from an abusive relationship where I ignored the meanness for the sake of having it there in my life!

Snapzu so far has been amazing, it has its own unique feel unlike Voat which is just a basic reddit clone. Also due to the exp system it makes being active in the community extremely fun

Yeah I just read one of the /t/asksnapzu posts about why voat got the worst of the reddit exodus last year (ppl who were furious about the banning of fatpeoplehate... without getting into it too much, while I understand their 'on principle' departure , they're also probably not the kind of people I'd be keen to have a chat with if you see what I mean).

All of which is a long-winded and poorly phrased way of saying I'm looking forward to spending more time here!

I feel like Snapzu has more promise in it than Voat. It's no reddit right now, that's for sure, but in time I can see this being a great community (not that it isn't already).

I actually really like how you're somewhat limited in what you can do if your level is too and how you can level up with a lot of community support. It just seems like a really good system for the community to regulate what kind of content gets seen.
