I gave it some thought and realized that the benefits of growing this place by inviting people far outweigh the risks associated with sharing those invite codes openly. Honestly as long as we don't get an influx of spammers I am totally happy with spreading the good word of this place.
This. It is not like we are just posting them randomly at the internet. We are putting them on a forum where people desire to find a better alternative to reddit. That online makes them good people to give codes to because they have a taste for content. They are willing to break from the hivemind.
In the sense that anybody can join the community, that's true. However, this isn't anywhere close to a popular or default sub. The only way you really find this subreddit is if you actually go out looking for it. Its where I found this site a while back. And its so well hidden, I forgot the sub name and lost it for a while.

As someone who received one of these random codes, I'm glad they're out there. It's one of the best ways to build a community.
