Just jumped ship
How many of you guys packed up and left Reddit and what was the straw that broke the camel's back for you? Frankly, after the blog post today, I had to nope the hell on out. So far, this place looks pretty neat, and I love the way it's set up. Hope to meet some cool people here and start a tribe or two before someone beats me to it.

Hey /u/abstractrude and welcome to snapzu! I've been around here personally for a while and saw this place evolve into a great community full of really awesome people. As for the blog post I think there is definitely a small pocket of disgruntled redditors looking for something different.
As for setting up tribes... you're in luck there is still a ton of great tribes ripe for the picking. If you have any questions may I suggest getting in touch with me using the PM option, I will be glad to help in anyway I can!
Will do! This place is already looking to be rather friendly and welcoming. The community is a bit small, but I don't mind it in the slightest. It'll be nice to be a part of the growth here.
I like it being on the small size myself.
That's what she said.
...And I'll see myself out.
Welcome!
Thank you!
There are really only a few sub Reddit groups i still visit and belong to, for the most part, I come here instead. I suspect it will eventually be like Digg and be a ghost of it's former self.
It's a bit sad to think about, but it's likely the truth. If they keep trying to push their safe space "SJW" mentality, people are going to catch wind and just up and leave. As much as I hate the term and as much as I don't enjoy sounding like a tin-foil hat guy, SJWs tend to ruin everything. =[
I had words with a moderator in the Politics subReddit. My account was banned. I created a new account and after 2 days I noticed there were no replies to my comments. I went into Incognito mode and could not see that username or the responses. If they want to ban someone, fine, but playing stupid games is just childish, especially considering that I was right and the mod was wrong.
I got thrown off a sub reddit for the same reason. The mod said muslems were a race, i said muslems was a religion, not a race. I got blocked,so I blocked their subreddit as a result.
i haven't completely left reddit, but I still prefer snapzu. I think reddit is 'too big to succeed' aka bloated. I think it will always have it's place as a regional forum basically.
As far as creating/grabbing tribes, what are your interests? where are you from?
I've loved video games since I was four. A lot of the content I would tear through on Reddit was all gaming news. Industry figures, industry news, and the games themselves, I really can't get enough of that stuff. It's a hobby that takes up most of my time. As for where I'm from, I'm from Houston, TX. I've lived there for years and I love the place. Great food, nice people, but no one can drive on 45 for some reason.
have you figured out a way to turn your hobby into an income?
also, my wife's family has lived in Houston for almost 30 years. They are officially moving out this summer. because it's where they lived, I'm fairly familiar with the I-10/Kirkwood area.
wait so this place is full of reddit users?
deletes acct
Not necessarily, but as OP mentioned some have been jumping ship for various reasons.
