I'm new from Reddit too. I created a couple tribes (nothing in them quite yet), but I think what makes any tribe unique and good would be the passion for them. If you have passion for whatever you are doing you will work harder at it and make it the best it possibly can be and people around you will want to follow. Thats just my two cents.
I agree I think passion has a lot to do with this. Also providing something for users is really going to make a difference. I started /t/Tutor so that users can help each other! I think that feeling really comes through and adds to the success of a tribe!
Do you know if a tribe can be started from mobile device or must be a desktop. Can't find an option to start a tribe. Please share your tribes-good luck with them.

I saw that tribe posted a little while ago;really great idea! I hope it catches on and people really use it. It could be a great tool for people.
