I am sure you will find this community a bit different than reddit, but to be honest this time diferent is definitely better.

I totally agree. I feel the stuff I end up reading here is interesting and considered, but not overly academic. Reddit seemed to have become polarised, whereas here seems to be casual-cognitive in its tone.
