Very true! I've had a few snaps downvoted and I don't know why. Well, I've been advised by one nice person that one of my old snaps was half empty, which explains why I had two downvotes on it. I've updated it now, but if I had been told why it was downvoted, I would have seen the mistake earlier. Shame really.

Agreed! It was a little disheartening to be all excited to find a community that isn't downvote-happy like reddit is, post my first snap, and then almost immediately get downvoted without a given reason. At least providing a reason allows me to learn!
