23rd February 2023 – Ads submitted to Facebook, TikTok and YouTube containing extreme violent hate against the LGBTQ+ community in Ireland were almost all approved for publication by the platforms, according to a new test carried out by Global Witness. Ten ads were submitted to each of the three platforms (all were removed before being published), containing vicious and hateful language, including some based on real life examples reported by LGBTQ+ groups in Ireland.

Charles Silverstein, a psychologist and therapist who played a key role in getting homosexuality declassified as a mental illness, died Jan. 30 at 87. He had lung cancer, according to his executor Aron Berlinger. "Before I came out, I was not very brave. When I came out, I came out all the way, not just sexually but politically," Silverstein told the Rutgers Oral History Archives in 2019.
