I spoke a little Spanish from the age of 3 until I was about 8, then had one beginning semester of Spanish class when I was 12, and another beginning class at 20-something. Although my pronunciation is easily understood, I speak Spanish like a very small child. I started studying Spanish again using Duo a few months ago.

I started learning French at 15 and have had classes on and off since then from time to time. When I took the placement test during a one week course in Paris, she said, "Vous parlez assez bien, mais vous avez une petite problème avec la grammaire." Currently, I am maintaining my Duolingo French tree, and am taking B1/B2 classes at Alliance Française. We're reading Le Collier Rouge in one of my classes.

I recently started learning Dutch about a week ago. Later on this year, I am very fortunate to have a trip to France, Hungary, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands. So, I'd like to do a bit of the Duolingo German tree as well, which is probably crazy as it's very similar to Dutch and it's not necessary to learn either language at all, but I am going to do it anyway.

My native language is English, and I'm not fluent in anything other than English. I get by in Spanish and French, but would like to become more proficient in both. Other languages such as Dutch are just for fun at the moment. I won't even tell you the other languages that I'd like to learn.
