I'm not sure if this tackles the problem. You can change your following feed to just own comments, but what if you would still like to follow others as well? It would be much harder to follow your own comments, and might hurt quality of discussion if someone replies much later, and you can't remember your comment history on that comment.
My 2 cents are that there could be more formatting under the comment and snap "notification button" (top right left corner), that would show what some of the comment said and where it was said, and that may work better. (However, I am not a developer or anything like that so IDK)
