[bug] Either I'm doing something wrong or bullet lists/numbered lists are not working properly

• blabla
• blabla

should, as per this guide make a bulleted list, while

1. blabla
2. blabla

should make an (automatically) numbered list. I came across this issue while writing a comment, and using dashes didn't create a numbered list.
