[Site Functionality] The state of NSFW content (snap and tribe discoverability)
Hi gang,
i am active here for a while now and want to talk about the state of NSFW content on snapzu.
From my experience, right now it's pretty bad. New snaps are simply not visible to users which means the influx of new users in NSFW tribes (tribes which have NSFW snaps only) is pretty low (next to zero to be honest). The reason for this is obvious. NSFW content is blocked from the FRONT PAGE. *edit: Oh, besides that, NSFW tribes cannot use the promotion tools which is a pretty big problem as well.
In the beginning i was ok with this but now, realizing how important the FRONT PAGE is, i think this has to change to make NSFW tribes a thing on snapzu.
I completely understand that it's not in snapzus interest to have porn images on the front page by default but there has to be a way a user sees new snaps there.
My suggestion is simple. Make it opt in from the user settings or even better, ask her / him after sign up if he / she wants to see NSFW content. The functionality to tag snaps is already there so it should be pretty easy to add this user setting. Besids that a filter for NSFW snaps on the start page would be useful as well. So a user can show / hide those snaps instantly.
Again, i understand that not everybody wants to see NSFW content but I think the user should be able to decide if she / he wants to see it or not.

Hi /u/sin, I missed this post and was just made aware of it by a fellow member, my apologies for the insanely late reply I will refrain from using any sort of excuses.
I will discuss your concerns on Monday when I meet up with the rest of the team and we will come up with ways we can safely promote NSFW content without going as far as throwing it up and having unsuspecting members get in trouble over it. I personally like the opt in to NSFW content idea and will work on brainstorming some other ways to promote NSFW tribes as well as content within them. I will also get in touch with you personally via PM to further discuss. Thank you.

I noticed this as well. I am an adult and i would like to decide for myself if there is adult content in my startpage or not.
Thx for the info, i wasn't aware that it is handled this way.
Even if there is no setting for the main front page, an alternate NSFW front page (that might only contain NSFW links/images) could also work to help NSFW tribes.
Indeed, that's similar to what i tried to suggest with my "filter suggestion".
