It's pretty lackluster indeed. But I'm not expecting originality every week, there's a whole year to fill still.
I'm actually a fan of things like this. It gives you a good way to get quests out of the way for decks you might not have put together.
That said, I think a cooler (but similar) format would be if you got a randomly selected deck that someone went 12-X in arena with.

And that'd be pretty cool. I bet I'd be scratching my head รก la "how the hell did they win with these cards?".
That would be half the fun.
"How the hell did this person get 20 knife jugglers?"
"Does this deck really have 7 legendaries?"
I swear, at one point I was juggling the jugglers themselves!
