I did even though I had a PC at home. We always walked over during lunch to play like 45 min, luckily it was really close to our school. I remember I would eat ramen (had to buy the damn hot water for like a dollar), and kick everyone's ass. The best thing was that because it was a LAN, it was lag free and everyone killed was in that room somewhere.
Yeah the place we went to was a little on the "I'm going to get stabbed if I kill one of those guys" type of feel. Your wins were not celebrated that loudly unless you knew you'd taken out a friend. Then the shit talking started.
I'd occasionally hang out but never play as I was too cheap to pay the $3/hr fee, and once some clown pulled out a gun and started pointing at people. He then left and later got arrested.
I can remember going to internet cafe's with friends to play 1.3 all the time.
