Modeling vs Animation

There is so much to learn in Blender, I wish there were separate tribes for Animation and Modeling... I am appreciating the tutorial posts though. :)

Welcome Rhumanity. I agree, there are a large number of complex areas in Blender... quite intimidating. Jusst as you think you are getting proficiency in one you realise it's useless without proficiency in another and so on. Good thing it's so fun.

There aren't the features at the moment that allow us to do that. Like Swanee said, would be cool if we could create custom categories and then filter that way. I think it would be much better to have one place for these things, than having to bother with 5 or 6 different tribes.

I can understand that perspective, I guess I'm just overwhelmed by how much there is to learn. You guys are doing a great job in this tribe, keep up the good work!

Yeah I would really like to see a eventual site feature for individual boards to have categories or tags for users to sort posts with. Glad you are finding some good information to learn from though and would love to see some renders eventually :)

Try posting on /t/ideasforsnapzu , I'm pretty sure I've seen it there before but definitely worth reposting.

I'm working on it. I work a lot and finding a good chunk of time to not only render but also learn what I am doing is difficult at the moment.

Have you tried using a render farm like Sheepit (https://www.sheepit-renderfarm.com/) for your renders? Can speed up your renders and leave you to get on with other things while it's rendering.

I've never heard of render farms, do they cost money?

Not this one. To be honest I haven't had much need to use it before, but I think how it works is that you donate rendering power for a certain amount of time for other peoples projects and the more you donate the more credits you can build up. Then when you upload a project, the more credits you have the more priority your project is given. So after donating some time to the farm you should be able to get your stuff rendered by the farm more quickly.

Anyone else with more experience of the site please feel free to come and correct me.
