Assassin’s Creed Valhalla “won't be the longest or biggest game in the series”
If you’re wincing at the idea of stepping back into never-ending story in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, rest easy – it looks like it won’t be as much of a beast as Odyssey. In a response to an article about the size of Valhalla – which features a map that encompasses some of Norway and the four kingdoms of England – Ubisoft’s head of communications for the Middle East, Malek Teffaha, says the developer has addressed criticisms of the last game’s bloat.

New Assassin's Creed Odyssey Quest 'The Daughters of Lalaia' Is Live
Ubisoft has added a new quest to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Like previous The Lost Tales of Greece quests, this latest escapade is free for all players. It's titled 'The Daughters of Lalaia' and it should give you something to do before the game's next DLC episode launches in the near future. Look, we've got to give Ubisoft credit here -- the company's been doing a great job of keeping Odyssey updated since the game released in October last year. New quests, bounties, and big title updates have been dropping on a regular basis, and every time we load the game up, it feels like we've got something to do.

And for the first time, the game includes a combat-free ‘discovery mode’ so it can be used by teachers as an educational tool in classrooms.

Assassin's Creed Origins Review
Assassin’s Creed Origins is a dark, multifaceted, deep dive into one of the series’ most alluring settings yet: ancient Egypt. As Bayek of Siwa, who is simultaneously compassionate, bold, and driven by revenge, you’re strung through a twisted story of pharaohs and corrupt leaders, of love gained and lost, and the plights of the lower class in a time when they were routinely worked to death and nobody batted an eye.

Assassin's Creed and Far Cry may not return for 2017
It was rumored in January, and then effectively confirmed in February, that despite releases in the franchise coming every year since 2009, a new Assassin's Creed game would not come out in 2016. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said at the time that the long-term goal was not to "come back to an annual cycle, but to come back on a regular basis" when the series returned, which it was assumed would happen sometime in 2017. But Tommy Francois, Ubi's vice president of editorial, told IGN that it may take even longer than that to get things back on track.
